A warranty is a promise with an expiration date, and the expiration is the only part the seller has an incentive to leave quiet. Nobody is going to write and tell you that the dishwasher's coverage runs out next month.
The failure curve is unhelpfully shaped
Appliances tend to fail either very early — a manufacturing defect, comfortably inside coverage — or several years in, comfortably outside it. The middle period, where you might reasonably think about the warranty, is the period during which nothing happens and you forget it exists.
So the reminder is the whole product
The date is knowable on the day of purchase. Record it, along with the serial number and where the receipt is, and set a reminder a month before it lapses. That one month is when a marginal fault is worth reporting rather than living with — and it is the only window in which "it's been making a noise" is a free conversation.
