FAQ
Questions, answered.
- What is Sherpsy?
- Sherpsy is a household operating system — one shared place for your family's calendar, grocery and to-do lists, chores, recipes and meal planning, a pantry that tracks what's in the house, home and vehicle maintenance, product-recall alerts, and an encrypted vault for important documents. It stays quiet and speaks up only when something needs your attention.
- How much does Sherpsy cost?
- Sherpsy is free for one household with up to two members. Sherpsy Plus is $9/month (or $79/year) and adds unlimited members and assets, recall monitoring, warranty tracking, two-way calendar sync, the Command Center display, and the encrypted vault. Sherpsy Home is $16/month (or $149/year) for larger households and multiple properties. One subscription covers everyone — there is no per-seat pricing.
- Is there a free plan?
- Yes. One household with up to two members, the shared calendar, grocery and to-do lists, chores, and up to three tracked assets are free, with no credit card required.
- What platforms does Sherpsy run on?
- Sherpsy runs on the web and as native apps for iPhone and Android. The Command Center turns any spare tablet with a browser into a family kitchen display.
- Is my data private and secure?
- Yes. The vault is end-to-end encrypted: every entry is sealed on your device with AES-256-GCM before it ever leaves it, so Sherpsy's servers only ever store ciphertext and staff cannot read them. Every row of household data is fenced off by database row-level security, and children's accounts run no third-party analytics and no background location tracking.
- Does Sherpsy use AI, and where does my data go?
- In a few focused places, always with you in control. Recipe cards, receipts, and serial plates are read on your own device by on-device OCR — that text never leaves the phone. Shelf Scan is the one feature that sends a household photo off your device: you point the camera at the pantry and an AI provider identifies what's on the shelf, always after a clear heads-up before the shutter. Nothing an AI extracts is ever saved until you have reviewed and confirmed it, and each household gets a set monthly allowance of scans.
- Can children have accounts?
- Yes. Children can have their own accounts, or you can add a young family member by name with no email or login at all. Children's accounts are always free, see no advertising, and are never tracked by third-party analytics.
- How do family members join a household?
- An admin sends a single-use invite. There is no shared household password — everyone signs in with their own Google, Apple, Facebook, or Microsoft account.
- Does Sherpsy check for product and vehicle recalls?
- Yes. Sherpsy checks your vehicles and products against the NHTSA and CPSC federal recall databases every day and raises an alert linked to the campaign and remedy. It never shows a false 'all clear' — it tells you when it last checked and reminds you to confirm with the manufacturer.
